A Bit of History

The White Mountain Range Riders formed as an official group in 1953. Every year since, members and friends have gathered to enjoy a few cool days in the White Mountains of Northeastern Arizona. Riders experience the best unmarked trails and fishing in this pristine and relatively untouched country. Members come from all walks of life but they have some things in common: sharing a love for the great outdoors and experiencing Arizona's rugged terrain on horseback.

The White Mountains

The White Mountains are rich in the history and heritage of the ancient Indian and pioneer families that inhabited the region. They are home to Fort Apache, several historic museums, the Casa Malpais Ruins, and acres and acres of pristine outdoor trails. The White Mountain Apache Tribe members often serve as hosts in this recreational wonderland. The White Mountain Range Riders love the White Mountains for the seclusion not often found in today's busy world. During the annual ride, members camp, ride and fish through this unspoiled backcountry.
